This Professional Development Grant, named in honor of ACTM past president Kimberly Dawn Hughes, is intended to strengthen the quality of mathematics teaching in Arkansas. This grant, awarded annually, will provide $1000 financial assistance to an Arkansas mathematics educator to travel to either a regional or the annual conference of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). See nctm.org for conference locations and dates. Applications due April 1 for travel to any NCTM conference within two years of the application deadline. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS ($500) ACTM Professional Development Grants (up to $500) provide financial assistance to Arkansas mathematics educators to attend a state, regional, or national mathematics education conference, or other professional development experiences that have a focus on mathematics education.
